Native Instruments Vari Comp
Ламповый двухканальный компрессор от Native Instruments и Softube.
VARI COMP is an all-purpose, easy-to-use, two-channel compressor with breathtakingly transparent sound. Modeled on the sound of boutique high-end studio gear, this first-ever software emulation adds high-pass sidechaining and parallel compression – all while running as a stand-alone plug-in inside your DAW. Highly usable and full of rich, natural sound, VARI COMP delivers the warmth and presence of top-of-the-line tube-powered hardware.
Feel The Squeeze
Use VARI COMP in Compress mode for a warm, transparent sound via a subtle compression ratio of 1.5:1. In limit mode, knee and ratio adjust automatically in response to the input signal, ranging from 4:1 to 20:1, depending on the input level and threshold settings. The sound remains smooth and musical at all times.
Highly flexible, VARI COMP is equally well suited to individual tracks, sub groups, or the mastering stage. The software also updates the original with the addition of a high-pass in the detector circuit, external sidechain input, and a wet/dry knob for convenient parallel compression.
This effect belongs to the PREMIUM TUBE SERIES, produced in collaboration with Softube. These “Swedish rock 'n' roll scientists” specialize in incredibly accurate software emulations of professional audio hardware.
As well as working with Native Instruments, they make a wide range of their own products. Their reputation in the industry is exceptional.
Artists On Vari Comp
"Vari Comp is my favorite – you can drive the hell out of it, which I know a lot of electro people are going to dig. It doesn't focus all the sound into one big clump, but leaves the depth of the mix intact. The user interface is clean and simple... another big plus!"
Adam Berg (Engineer for Aloe Blacc, Melody Thornton, Richard Rudolph / Grammy listed in 2008 and 2009)
"The Vari Comp just has the ability to really glue everything together nicely. I also really love the flexibility: Going from a nice mix glue to a distortion box that's just crushing whatever you put into it. I've especially had a lot of luck with it on drums since I can really mangle the sound and then mix it in to taste."
Noah Passovoy (Maroon 5)
"LOVE IT!! It gels your music together nicely, and gives vocals a genuine feel. Looks good, too!"
Dready (Producer for Busta Rhymes, G Unit, Dr. Dre)
